Staff Accountant

SUMMARY: The Staff Accountant is responsible for maintaining financial procedures and confirming financial compliance through preparation of a company’s reports and statements. Excellent communication and project management skills are essential as this position will be communicating to Sr Leadership, and responsible for driving strategic projects.

Responsibilities:

  • Performs general financial accounting and other related duties for the organization.
  • Prepares monthly balance sheets, income statements, and profit and loss statements.
  • Maintains the general ledger, Chart of Accounts, and ensures proper tracking and backup of all Balance Sheet accounts.
  • Works with AP, AR and Cash personnel to ensure proper accounting and reconciliation of all subledgers.
  • Tracks and reconciles all Capital projects and ensures proper CIP accounting and reporting.
  • Provides outside auditors with assistance; gathers necessary account information and documents to perform annual audit.
  • Files tax forms with federal, state, and local government agencies.
  • Coordinates with software vendor to maintain accounting software systems; recommends updates to enhance the accounting software.
  • Responsible for creating and managing key projects related to software implementation, and process improvement.
  • Educates various stakeholders on key processes, systems, and best practices.
  • Maintains knowledge of acceptable accounting practices and procedures.
  • Will be required to learn Cost Accounting associated with industry.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned.

Requirements: 

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in business management, accounting, or finance
  • Experience: 5+ years’ experience, manufacturing experience preferred.
  • Must have strong technical and analytical skills with solid accounting background.
  • Cost accounting experience is beneficial, but not necessary to start.
  • Ability to build professional relationships with internal and external clients.
  • Ability to lead a team or project from inception to completion, with specific objectives and time lines.
  • Ability to analyze financial data and prepare financial reports, statements and projections with a strong attention to detail.
  • Demonstrated ability to make solid, objective, ethical decisions.
  • Able to maintain strict confidence in financial sensitive information and demonstrate a high level of integrity.
  • Excellent communication and analysis skills required accompanied with a persona of a high character teammate.
  • Demonstrable experience with PCs, financial spreadsheets, and accounting software. Preferred experience specifically working with AMTECH reporting software. Proficient with Microsoft Office, Excel, Teams, Power Point, BI.
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a diverse environment and interact effectively with other groups and departments, clients, and partners.
