Research Associate, Vector Development

Our client is at the forefront of developing a non-viral gene therapy platform capable of precisely targeting various organs in the body, delivering large payloads in multiple formats without the need for invasive procedures. We are looking for a Research Associate with strong technical experience in molecular cloning.
Responsibilities
- Generation of gene therapy vectors for in vitro and in vivo efficacy evaluation
- Execute a cloning strategy to prepare plasmids containing genes of interest.
- Communicate updates and results at group meetings.
- Maintain accurate records of experiments and ensure that laboratory procedures and protocols are followed.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in biological sciences (e.g. Genetics, Biochemistry, Molecular and Cellular Biology, Physiology, or related field) with 1-3 years of industry experience.
- Industry experience preferred.
- Creativity and the ability to work within an interdisciplinary team to achieve technical and corporate milestones.
- Strong communication, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills.
Technical Requirements and Skills:
- Experience with a variety of cloning techniques, including restriction enzyme, site-directed mutagenesis, and Gibson cloning.
- Experience with Sanger and NGS sequencing analysis and sequence alignment.
- Proficiency with molecular biology software, such as Geneious.
- Familiarity with ELN platforms ideally with Benchling.
- Strong record-keeping and organizational skills.
- An ideal candidate will have familiarity with gene editing and high throughput screening technologies
