As a skilled financial analyst and strong communicator, you will streamline our budgeting, payroll, and financial reporting processes. As the company grows, you will be the first Controller with the organization, bringing the outsourced accounting functions inhouse and establishing a strong department culture

 

Additionally, you will ensure compliance with local, state, and federal government reporting requirements and tax filings. 

 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee all aspects of the company’s financial operations, including accounting, budgeting, financial reporting, and analysis
  • Responsible for compliance with local, state, and federal government reporting requirements and tax filings
  • Lead the creation, oversight, and completion of the monthly close process, ensuring accuracy and timeliness of financial statements
  • Support the management team in understanding costs and how they will influence performance against budget and forecast
  • Manage and develop the accounting team, fostering a culture of excellence and continuous improvement
  • Implement and maintain robust internal controls and financial systems
  • Coordinate with external auditors for annual audits and ensure compliance with regulatory requirements
  • Oversee project accounting for clinical trials and research initiatives
  • Manage cash flow and financial forecasting
  • Ensure compliance with US GAAP, and stay informed about changes in accounting standards and regulations
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to provide financial insights for strategic decision-making

 

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance
  • Minimum of 8 years of progressive experience in accounting and finance
  • NetSuite accounting software knowledge a plus
  • CPA, advanced degree and/or Big 4 experience are nice to have, but in no way will this disqualify you from the role.
