LEAD SOFTWARE ENGINEER 

Our client has been doing custom design and creation of software for over 15 years. As a leader in their space, they work on some of the most respected projects in the field and are building the next generation of online applications.

They are looking for talented, passionate software engineers to join their team developing SQL and XML database-driven web applications from concept to release in small, collaborative teams. You will work with a talented group of experts in design, engineering, and project management.

Responsibilities:

• Working with the project manager to lead and manage a small team of software engineers and the overall software development process
• Ensuring the software architecture addresses technical risks and project requirements
• Overall code quality of the project through your own development and the mentoring of others

Requirements:

• Experience with Java 5+ and modern Java web frameworks and libraries.
• 3+ years experience developing Java-based, database-driven web applications.
• Experience building software end-to-end (full SDLC); working with clients/stakeholders, writing specifications, designing & building software, and maintenance
• A passion for software and learning new technologies
• XML technologies such as XML, XSLT, and XQuery (MarkLogic, eXist or other XML content repositories a plus)
• SQL and relational databases (Hibernate or another ORM a plus) Nice-to-haves (for the ideal candidate):
• Experience with Tapestry 5
• Experience working within an agile process (Scrum, XP, etc)
• Experience with Test-Driven Development and related technologies (JUnit, Selenium, etc)
• Experience with (X)HTML, CSS, and JavaScript (jQuery, Prototype/Scriptaculous, etc)
